What We'll Do At Your Event

Arrival, set up and soundcheck

Normal arrival time is 6pm and at that point there’s a good chance you will be either eating or doing speeches. For that reason we liaise with the event coordinator on arrival and arrange a discrete load-in so as not to disturb the end of your meal. Load-in and set-up takes anywhere between 60-90 mins depending on the proximity of our van to the performance area. Once everything is up and running we need an additional 30 minutes for soundcheck before we can begin our performance. We recommend scheduling first dance for around 8pm to ensure there is ample time.

1st live set

As soon as we are happy with the live sound of the band, we will start playing background music through the PA and get ourselves prepared for the first set. At some point we will need a meal; it’s normally easier to have it during set-up or just after (before the first dance), but it’s not a problem if it needs to be pushed back to the first break. We will send you an info pack explaining more about that 3 weeks before the event date.

After set up

We will come and find you and have a quick chat about your first dance. Its not unusual for people to be a bit nervous, so we make sure you're totally ready before announcing it and will normally encourage the audience to join you after a minute or two so you don't feel like you are on display the whole time. Some couples prefer to do the whole thing alone; that’s also fine, we will decide in advance what would make you happiest. After first dance, we will launch straight into one of the three festival sets you have chosen from our repertoire. 40 minutes later, we will break and immediately start playing music from a suitable playlist.

2nd live set

By this time guests should be pretty warmed up. It’s worth scheduling this set well after any kind of buffet or evening food because people don't dance well with a belly-full of Hog Roast, and they normally need some time to digest and chat.

3rd live set & end of the night

All of our festival sets are suitable for any time of the night as they are all designed with a natural climax towards the end, but of course we want the last set to be the big finale! Whichever set you have chosen we will normally include an encore if your guests are keen for more (we certainly hope so!). We recommend this set concludes approximately 30 minutes before the end of the night so that we have time for that, as well as some more of the DJ set for those people who still want to dance. This also means you can enjoy the end of the band’s last set before saying your goodbyes to all your guests and arranging carriages.
